Academics

At Cassady Elementary, academics are built on high expectations, strong instruction, and meaningful learning experiences for every child. Our teachers use research-based practices, engaging lessons, and data-driven support to ensure students grow in foundational skills while also developing critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. We are committed to helping all students meet and exceed academic goals in a nurturing, student-centered environment.

Semester Grades

Standards-based grading is a system that measures how well students understand specific skills and learning goals rather than averaging scores from a variety of assignments. Instead of focusing on points or percentages, it clearly shows what a student knows, what they can do, and where they may need more support. This approach gives families a more accurate picture of their child’s progress and helps teachers tailor instruction to meet each student's needs.

Grade Promotion

The HMH curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based program designed to support deep learning in reading, writing, and math. It provides clear, structured lessons paired with engaging activities that help students build strong foundational skills while also encouraging critical thinking. With a mix of print and digital resources, HMH offers flexibility for teachers and meaningful, accessible learning experiences for students at all levels.
